Delta Flight 191 Crash Narrowly Misses Runway | Mayday | On The Move

On this episode of Mayday, what was thought to be a routine landing ended with passengers jet falling from the sky towards a highway. On August 2nd, 1985, Delta flight 191 flying from Fort Lauderdale to Dallas Fort Worth on an L-1011 encountered afternoon thunderstorms. Managing to fly around the storm initially, the air traffic control asks the pilots to slow down their plane so they don’t come in too fast after the plane that has just landed. However, as they descend the storm shifts and they end up right in the eye of it, unable to make their way through it, they crash right before they get to the runway.
