TikTok, Reels, Shorts… it’s now the primary way many people consume fashion content online. This comes with its positives and negatives, but I’d also like to look closer at the media landscape this type of content contributes to. Whether we like it or not we’re part of it, so we might as well strap in for the ride!

For clarity as this wasn’t mentioned in the video – this is not intented to be a ‘criticism’ or takedown of any particular content creators or styles of content. Many of the examples I used here, particularly outfit content, are things I personally enjoy and create myself. My intention here is to discuss how we can consume this content in a more conscious or healthy way.
